Zone4 is currently undertaking a significant project to improve how we store, manage, and collaborate on documents. After careful consideration, we have chosen Nextcloud as the platform that will support our document management needs moving forward.
Nextcloud is an open-source, self-hosted solution that offers a wide range of features designed to enhance productivity while maintaining full control over data. This transition reflects our commitment to digital autonomy, security, and efficient collaboration across the Zone4 community.
Why Nextcloud?
The decision to adopt Nextcloud was driven by several key factors:
- It allows us to host our own data, ensuring privacy and compliance with our values.
- It provides secure file storage and sharing capabilities.
- It supports collaborative editing of documents, making teamwork more seamless.
- It includes integrated tools such as calendars, task management, and messaging.
- It offers granular access control, so different teams and individuals can manage their own spaces.
Project Status
This is an active and ongoing project. Our technical team is currently working on setting up the infrastructure, configuring user access, and preparing documentation to support onboarding. Once the system is ready, Zone4 members will be invited to begin using the platform for storing meeting minutes, working documents, reports, and other materials relevant to our shared activities.
We believe this solution will strengthen our ability to work together across regions and roles, while preserving the integrity and accessibility of our information.
Further updates will be shared as the project progresses. We welcome feedback and questions from members who are interested in learning more or getting involved.
Thank you for your continued support as we build a more connected and organized Zone4.
