In the context of Subud, the term “Wings” refers to affiliated organizations that focus on specific areas of activity and service within the broader Subud community. While they are technically independent organizations with their own legal structures and boards, they operate in alignment with Subud’s principles and often have overlapping memberships.
These Wings and Sub Committees were developed to channel the talents and interests of Subud members into constructive action in the wider world. They provide a framework for members to work together on projects related to their specific focus, often drawing inspiration and guidance from the latihan kejiwaan.
Main international Subud Wings and Sub Committees
Subud International Cultural Association (SICA):
Culture is conveyed through all that we do in the course of our lives. Culture is not limited to the performance arts; culture emerges naturally through all the varied expressions of our creative selves.
The Subud International Cultural Association (SICA) aims to be the nexus for an emerging new culture – a culture stemming from the awakening and growth of our inner selves by following the spiritual path of Subud. SICA focuses on two aspects:
- Encouraging Subud members to develop and express their talent, and
- Showcasing the best of this new culture to a wide audience.
SICA coordinates with a network of national SICA entities to achieve these objectives. These national entities usually take shape in three different forms, from legally-registered organizations, to informal SICA organizations, to a single national representative – who has been confirmed by their Subud national committee.

Susila Dharma International Association (SDIA):
Focuses on charitable, social, and humanitarian activities. This includes projects related to poverty relief, health, education, disaster aid, and community development.
Subud International Health Association (SIHA)
Subud International Health Association (SIHA) promotes the attainment of true human health (physical, emotional, mental and spiritual) by providing opportunities to share expertise within SUBUD and to communities worldwide. Together, we intend to discover a way for the content of healthcare to be guided and enlightened by the Power of Almighty God through the latihan kejiwaan of Subud.
In furtherance of this mission, SIHA aims to:
- Make healthcare information and expertise available to Subud members (i.e. through regular SIHA zoom presentations which are recorded and stored in the password-protected archive on our website for members to watch) and humankind worldwide
- Promote health related projects
- Promote mutual support, co-operation, and networking among Subud members who are active healthcare practitioners
- Provide a resource directory
- Encourage self-reliance in health through education and guiding through the latihan kejiwaan

Subud Enterprise Services International (SESI):
Supports ethical and sustainable economic activities and entrepreneurship among Subud members. It aims to help members develop their businesses and initiatives in a way that benefits themselves and their communities.
Subud Youth Activities International (SYAI):
Facilitates communication, connection, and activities for young people within the Subud community. It supports youth development programs and encourages their participation in Subud life.
These international Wings and Sub Committees often have corresponding national or regional branches that carry out similar activities at a more local level. They represent a significant aspect of how Subud members engage with the world and put the benefits of the latihan into practical service.
